’Claiming’ 

This piece painted in Oil was created for the Historical national trust building of Ickworth House. 

My piece reflects the female experience of 'manspreading", where men occupy excessive space in public.

Using scale, I reverse this dynamic. A central female figure takes up space through a small, deliberate gesture, while two male figures are pushed outward, appearing uncomfortable.

This inversion highlights how everyday behaviours shape power and presence, and how women are often expected to minimise themselves.

Painted in oil using classical techniques inspired by the themes set by Ickworth House, the work references historic power while reframing it through a contemporary female gaze.

Mixed Orders If your order contains both pre-order and in-stock items, please be aware that your entire order may be held until the pre-order item is ready to ship. If you'd prefer your in-stock items to be sent separately, please contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Returns Policy

We hope you love your purchase! However, if you're not completely satisfied, we're happy to help.

Returns Window You have 14 days from the date of delivery to request a return.

Eligibility To be eligible for a return, items must be:

• If the Item has been damaged in transportation. Item must remain packaged in original cello bag as proof of being damaged before being received.

How to Request a Return To start a return, please contact us at charlottemiller2001@gmail.com within 14 days of receiving your order. Once your return is approved, we'll provide instructions on how to send your item back.

Return Postage Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. We recommend using a tracked shipping service, as we cannot be held responsible for items lost in transit.

Exchanges We offer exchanges on eligible items. If you'd like to exchange your item, please let us know your preferred replacement when you get in touch.

Non-Returnable Items The following items cannot be returned:

• Items that have been used or damaged after delivery
• Items returned without their original packaging
• Any items marked as final sale
